
Riga Football Academy (RFA)
English Language Football Program
All Riga Football Academy classes and training sessions will be running in English Language Football Programmes for players aged 13 and over. We will also offer English Language Courses with a qualified instructor.
What does the full time General English course involve?
RFA has linked up with a specialist English Language Centre to offer a General English course for players seeking to improve their English language skills, whilst studying towards football career. The RFA has a Doctor accredited by the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Ph.D. degree and the Academy itself is register as a Educational Sports Academy by the Government of Latvia. The course is designed to focus on developing the four key language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening in relation to football and common situations in life.
Before players begin the course students will take an online English language test to determine their level. We will prepare and plan, a suitable course of study for each individual student. The course emphasis on areas such as grammar and pronunciation whilst also focusing on daily situations on life. This English classes also will help to prepare players to join a football club in a foreign country or to develop further in his college work. The course uses material designed by the RFA. Students will be provided with a course book and CD-ROM according to their level of English. This course book is for the student to keep and helps to provide a useful through their learning process of English.This classes will have a substantial development on the future of youth football and produce a larger talent pool for international clubs and for the National Latvian Premier League.
Lessons will take place during an evening or weekend.There will be 2 lessons per week. Each lesson will be 1 hour in total with a 5 minute break. Students will be tested in class to monitor their progress at the end of each chapter; the teacher will take class participation and test scores before advising each student which exam is appropriate for them to study towards before the end of their course.

Excursions with an English football theme, for example a tour for a training session in a professional club in Latvia or a foreign country

A Summer Football Camp in Barcelona

Travel cost and accommodation and meals will be calculate close to the time of the event.
